The UK’s first-ever augmented reality Easter Egg Hunt

 
 

OBJECTIVE:

Create a memorable Easter promotion aimed at mums & kids that encourages downloads of the Asda app.

 

 

EXECUTION:

Our Easter Egg Adventure saw children and adults searching for specially designed ‘AR enabled’ stickers around the store. When scanned with their smartphones the stickers transformed into a virtual 3D Easter Eggs that hatched open to reveal a secret letter. The letters formed a password that, once completed, entitled the successful treasure hunter to a free Easter gift.

 

 

Results:

The three-day promotion ran in 400 Asda stores and saw over 35,000 downloads of the app in that time. Shopper feedback was overwhelmingly positive and led to a repeat activity in Halloween.
